nagnata
Nagnata is a luxury fashion and lifestyle brand informed by movement and mind practices while also being laser-focused on sustainability, inclusivity, and the representation and celebration of diverse cultures.
The brand's sustainably-minded design approach prioritizes honest materials and their impact on both the body and the planet. Nagnata blurs the line between technical sportswear and fashion by merging natural properties of organic and renewable fibers with technology and innovation. The brand challenges industry standards with its founding mantra "Movements Not Seasons" and extends its sustainability culture beyond garment materials and manufacturing. The brand embodies movement, art, and activism, aiming to effect positive change in the fashion industry through creativity and innovation.
In 2020, Nagnata introduced its first genderless movement, SAMA. According to the brand's website, “SAMA styles are not exclusively masculine or feminine and are staples of the Nagnata uniform, designed to share”. Nagnata's roadmap to a more sustainable future is ambitious, prioritizing the restoration of the planet for future generations and inspiring others in the industry to join their efforts toward a regenerative future.
Nagnata is a sustainable fashion brand co-founded by sisters Laura May and Hannah Gibbs. Laura May's experience as a fashion designer and creative director, combined with Hannah's background in textiles and photography, has led to the creation of the contemporary movement knitwear aesthetic that the brand is known for.

Nagnata seeks to merge fashion with fair trade, community-focused initiatives, and humanitarian work, with the incorporation of dance, yoga, movement, and mindfulness practices from eastern and western cultures. The brand has a small but growing team based in different locations around the world and is committed to its own educational evolution, encouraging unity and cultivating learning in its community.
MOVEMENT 12 –
Nagnata's new collection pays homage to the hinterlands and explores what is beyond what is visible or known. The brand continues to pursue a conscious approach to creativity and textile innovation, with 80% of the collection made from RWS Merino Wool, demonstrating their commitment to Care For Country. The collection features a return to nature with a palette inspired by remote areas, introducing one-shouldered styles, genderless expression, and tech-knit sweaters, all reflecting the brand's respect for the honesty of material and its impact on both the body and the planet.
The M12 Nagnata uniform blends softly constructed silhouettes with asymmetrical body contouring seamless knits and GOTS-certified organic cotton lifestyle pieces. The SAMA line offers formless cut-out vests and tech-knit sweaters, aimed to refine but not define, providing an elevated way of dressing for those who defy convention. Nagnata's considered approach to design encourages skin and the earth to breathe, reflecting the brand's commitment to sustainability.
