atelier delphine

Atelier Delphine is a Los Angeles-based brand that was founded over a decade ago by designer Yuka Izutsu.

Her aim was to create feminine and modern loungewear for the unconventional, the creatives. The brand's collections find inspiration in both “on-screen cinema sirens” as well as the everyday woman. The label’s garments are crafted in muted colors and high-quality fabrics, serving as a much needed sanctuary from fast fashion.

Yuka Izutsu has a unique approach to fashion design that is informed by her background in world literature, poetry, and philosophy. Her design language is like a form of storytelling, capturing the texture and depth of personal histories, resulting in garments that are open-spirited and deeply appreciative of craftsmanship. She draws inspiration from her love of conceptual art and poetry, which she translates into her textiles.

What sets Atelier Delphine apart is its commitment to preserving the creative agency of the artisans Yuka works with. Her designs are a way of sensitively interpreting their multi-layered stories. Yuka's garments strike a balance between Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetics and exceptional technical detailing from all over the world. She travels to countries like India, Peru, and Italy to source fabrics and work with traditional artisans to develop her designs.

Each Atelier Delphine garment is an invitation to the wearer to explore their own personal interpretation of beauty, which is nothing less than life itself. The brand's standout pieces include kimono jackets, dolman sleeves draped to perfection, and exceptional knits. Yuka Izutsu's love of textured, high-quality fabrics and her penchant for neutrals make Atelier Delphine a must-have brand for those who appreciate slow fashion and attention to detail.
